Basic Vocational Training Cycles CFGB

Basic vocational training cycles complement the range of vocational education programs, alongside intermediate and higher vocational training cycles. Primary education, compulsory secondary education, and Basic Vocational Training Cycles (CFGB) together make up basic education.

Vocational training programs are the formal education pathways most closely connected to the labor market. They respond to the need for qualified professionals specialized in different production sectors. The training offer takes into account labor market trends, covering both in-demand and emerging occupations in a changing employment landscape. To this end, they are organized into training cycles grouped by professional families and different levels. The first level corresponds to the Basic Vocational Training Cycles.

Who is it for?

  • These training cycles are an opportunity for students who are particularly motivated by vocational learning and who show greater potential for learning and achieving compulsory secondary education competencies within an environment linked to the professional world. They are aimed at students who have completed the third year of compulsory secondary education (or, exceptionally, the second year), based on a proposal from the teaching staff through the Guidance Council.
  • Basic Vocational Training Cycles last two academic years.
  • Successfully completing all the areas included in a Basic Vocational Training Cycle leads to obtaining both the Compulsory Secondary Education Graduate certificate and the Basic Technician title in the corresponding specialty, which certifies the professional competencies acquired.

 

What do I need to access it

You can access basic training cycles if you meet the following requirements:

  • Be 15 years old, or turn 15 during the current year.
  • Have completed the third year of ESO (compulsory secondary education). Exceptionally, you may be admitted if you have completed the second year, provided you have the approval of the teaching staff and the guidance coordinator at the school.
  • Have this course of study included in your guidance council recommendation, or request it (you and your family).
